Soul Street Dance Company on Friday!

The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness (DNACA) presents its fifth and final performance of its 28th season – Soul Street Dance (www.soulstreetdance.com).

The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 8,   at Crescent Elk Auditorium, 994 G St., Crescent City. When they take the stage, these four street dancers from Houston, Texas, will perform their newest production, “Breakin’ Backwards.” Music selections include a pieces by composers such as  Vivaldi, Debussy, Count Basie, Elvis Presley, The Temptations, Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, and more.

Dancers include Javier Garcia, Rock Williams, Cedric D. Hicks and Roy Rammer.

Garcia, cofounder and director, who has more than 10 years of performance experience and has toured throughout the U.S. and other countries. He has performed at theatres and festivals worldwide with some of hip-hop’s biggest musical acts. Williams is a dancer and performer with 24 years of experience.  Hicks, at age 22, is the youngest and newest member of the group. He has appeared with The Houston Rockets’ Launch Crew, Houston Comets, Southern University Dance Company and has danced as a featured guest with local artists and numerous hip-hop teams.  Rammer is a well-rounded “b-boy” who has won Red Bull battles in Houston and throughout Texas.

Tickets for Soul Street Dance cost $18 for general admission, $12 for students and seniors 65 and older, and are available at Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City, Wright’s Custom Framing in Brookings, and at the door beginning at 6:45 p.m. the evening of the show.
